Stopping Ebola

I have never heard about Ebola until I read an article ‘Windows to Stop Ebola Outbreak is ‘Closing Quickly,’ Official Warns by Alexandra Sifferlin. In this article, the outbreak of Ebola infected a lot of people in West Africa, even though include the doctors who from the other countries. A lot of patients have had to turn away; because of it was lack of space. That will be more difficult to treat patients and stop the outbreak of Ebola. So I think we should call for volunteers from all over the world to go to West Africa to help with emergency relief. The best volunteers will be those with medical trainings and emergency relief knowledge. We can get some support from international organizations, such as World Health Organization (WHO). They can organize the volunteers together and manage the emergency relief activities. Another idea is to increase the salaries of the local medical staff, so that they can work harder to help those infected with Ebola. I hope the disease will be stopped as soon as possible with help from all over the world.

  1. Great ideas. From my understanding the major issue related to this problem is the poverty in these infected countries and the lack of funding. The WHO relies heavily on private donations and without funding there is only so much they can do.
